NASA Surf School offers surf lessons for travellers who want a welcoming, straightforward experience at Balangan Beach. Choose the lesson that suits your level and the way you want to surf. Every NASA Surf School lesson is two hours and includes a surfboard and rash guard. You do not need to bring your own equipment to join us—just arrive ready for a beach day.

Surfing is different for every traveller. Some guests want to try standing on a board for the first time; others are sharing the experience with a partner, friends, or children. That is why NASA keeps each lesson simple to choose and easy to understand. Private lessons give one guest focused attention, semi-private lessons are for two people, and group lessons stay at a maximum of three guests.

Before you come, tell us what you have done in the water before and what you would like from the session. We will help you choose the right format for your Bali itinerary. If conditions change, we will confirm the best plan with you directly rather than making promises the ocean cannot keep.

How it works

Simple from first message to first wave.

Bring your swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a good attitude. We will handle the board and rash guard. Wear your swimsuit under comfortable clothes and bring drinking water if you need it. When you book, share your dates and your experience level so we can confirm the details before you travel to the beach.

Balangan Beach.

Balangan Beach sits on Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, close to Dreamland, Padang Padang, Bingin, Uluwatu, Pecatu, and Jimbaran. It is an easy place to add a surf lesson to your beach day. Ocean conditions can change with tides, wind, and wave size, so message us before you come with your dates and experience level. Save the map before you leave your accommodation, then follow directions when you are ready to come to the beach.

Common questions.

Do I need surfing experience?

No. Beginner Private, Semi-Private, and Group Lessons are available for guests new to surfing. If you already have experience, ask us about Intermediate Surf Coaching.

How long is a lesson?

Every NASA Surf School lesson is two hours. Share your preferred date and time when you message us, and we will confirm the session details before you come to the beach.

What is included in the price?

Each lesson includes a surfboard and rash guard. Please bring your swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and anything else you need for a comfortable beach day.

Are Semi-Private and Group prices per person?

No. Semi-Private is IDR 1,200,000 for two people. Group Lesson is IDR 1,500,000 for up to three people. Semi-Kids is IDR 1,000,000 for two children.

Can children join a lesson?

Yes. NASA Surf School offers Kids Surf Lessons for one child and Semi-Kids Lessons for two children. Message us with the children’s ages and any useful information before booking.

Meet at Nasa Warung, Balangan Beach. Use the directions button on this page, or ask us for help finding the meeting point when you book.
